Farm Credit Services of America Releases Year-to-Date Earnings

Net income was $373.5 million compared to $353.6 million for the same nine-month period in 2013. Loan volume increased by $793.5 million to $21 billion during the first nine months of 2014. Members’ equity increased to $4 billion from nearly $3.6 billion at the end of 2013.

Farmers have an opportunity to alleviate hunger in their communities by donating a portion of their crop to Invest An Acre, with Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) pledging to match farmers’ donations in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming. FCSAmerica is increasing its dollar-for-dollar match for the 2014 harvest, contributing up to $500 for each farmer’s grain donation.

Farmland Prices Stabilize in Iowa, increase in Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming

Prices and demand for farmland remained strong in the first six months of 2014 in the four-state territory of Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica). Farmland values appear to have stabilized in Iowa, where the market showed signs of softening in the last half of 2013. In Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming, land values continue to increase.

The Board of Directors for Farm Credit Services of America announced the results of its election of Board leadership. Jeremy Heitmann of Byron, Nebraska was elected Board chair; Nicholas Hunt of Atlantic, Iowa was elected first vice chair; and Kim Vanneman of Ideal, South Dakota, was elected second vice chair.
