Community Involvement

As a mission-driven financial cooperative, we believe in serving and enriching the rural communities where we live and work.

Our Commitment

2022 FCSAmerica community involvement map

Each dot on this map represents a project, program or organization supported by our 2022 community involvement program.

Serving rural America means more than financing those who farm and ranch.

Our community involvement program focuses on ag education, young and beginning producers, hunger and nutrition, rural disaster relief and essential services. We support these initiatives through employee volunteering, financial contributions and grants.

In Our Communities

Employees participate in our community involvement program through hands-on volunteer efforts. Annually, each employee is allocated eight hours of paid time to volunteer for an organization they choose to support. We also match employees’ donations to nonprofit organizations up to $300 per employee each year.

In 2022, employees volunteered more than 10,700 hours in their local communities through virtual and socially distanced efforts.

“We work to help our communities and we have a good time doing it. We know we’re helping a good cause. And people are so thankful. Non-profit organizations need a lot of help.” – Tammi, employee since 2004

2020 Business Excellence Award for philanthropy

BEA_Winner_Badge_Clr

The Business Excellence Award is an annual tradition recognizing regional organizations in each of these categories: Leadership, Innovation, Philanthropy and Sustained Excellence. The Greater Omaha Chamber selected the 2020 award winners from more than 50 nominations, by a committee comprised of representatives from six regional companies and the Greater Omaha Chamber.

While we are honored to be a winner of the 2020 Business Excellence Award for philanthropy, the credit belongs to our teammates – and to the many Omaha-area nonprofits whose good work they support.
