Omaha, Nebraska - (March 22, 2017) - Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) stockholders elected two producers to the financial cooperative’s Board of Directors:

Nick Hunt owns a family farm near Atlantic, Iowa. He raises corn, soybeans and alfalfa and has a cattle feeding operation.

Kim Vanneman operates a diversified farm near Ideal, South Dakota, with her husband. Their operation includes row crops, small grains, finishing feeder pigs and a commercial beef-cow herd.

Hunt and Vanneman ran as incumbents. Hunt currently serves as chair of the FCSAmerica Board of Directors. Each was elected to a four-year term that runs through April 1, 2021.

Beginning April 1, 2017, the FCSAmerica Board will consist of 15 Directors, down from 17. The FCSAmerica and Frontier Farm Credit Boards are each downsizing as part of their strategic alliance. After eight years of service to the FCSAmerica Board, Jim Ehlers of Newell, Iowa, will retire as a Director on March 31, 2017. Tim Rowe an Elwood, Nebraska, producer appointed in 2014 to fill a Director vacancy, stepped down from the FCSAmerica Board earlier in March 2017 to serve as an elected Director to the AgriBank, FCB Board.

“We are thankful for the dedication, leadership and sacrifice that our Directors have given over many years of service to stockholders of the Association and the Farm Credit System,” said Doug Stark, president and CEO of FCSAmerica and Frontier Farm Credit.

Farm Credit Services of America is a customer-owned financial cooperative proud to finance the growth of rural America, including the special needs of young and beginning producers.
