How I got started in agriculture

I grew up working on the farm, but I went to college to study business. Midway through I changed my mind and realized I really enjoyed agriculture, so I decided to try farming after I graduated and here I am today.

What I enjoy most about farming

What I like most about being involved in agriculture is every day is different. I can change things on my operation as I see fit.

My relationship with Farm Credit

I would describe my relationship with Farm Credit as a trusting relationship. I value their opinion. When they recommend something to me, I believe in that and take their advice.

They understand agriculture

Working with Farm Credit, they understand ag and the situations I deal with on a daily basis. If you walk into their office, you know you’re going to be working with professionals in different fields of ag whether it’s lending or crop insurance. I really appreciate the knowledge they have. It’s easy to trust them.

Keeping us informed

Since we started working with Farm Credit, I feel like we are better informed. They are proactive in keeping us informed of the rules of how to use crop insurance as a safety net program. It really complements our business and helps us make better decisions.
