Why we work with FCSAmerica

When you walk in the building, everybody knows you and you know everybody there. That’s a pretty good feeling. We’re working with someone who understands our business. When you’re on the same page with somebody like that, it just makes things more enjoyable.

What I’ve learned

It’s important to do your homework on whatever you are planning. There are so many resources out there, like the Extension system and FCSAmerica, that you can use to improve your knowledge to be a better operator. It’s important to go outside of your comfort zone and get advice from as many people as possible.

How we make decisions

As we grow as a family, we involve as many people as we can in our major decisions for our operation. It helps to have someone there, to help you make better decisions.

What I enjoy most about farming

It’s very exciting to know that our kids will grow up in the kind of atmosphere that our operation provides. They’ll grow up learning so many different things -- not just about the business, but also about life. They’ll learn to build relationships, to work with others and to communicate effectively.

Advice to other young and beginning farmers

Research whatever you want to do. There is a lot of information out there. And, learn from others before you dive into something.
