Why I chose agriculture

I grew up farming alongside my parents. I knew it was what I wanted to do. I was fortunate enough to be able to start my own farm and not have to rely on my dad retiring before I could be a full-time farmer.

How I prepared myself for agricultural business

I received a degree in agriculture business but didn’t return to the farm right away. I wanted to get some hands-on business experience that I knew would help me when I did return to the farm. I ended up managing an agronomy department before I got to where I am today.

Our business approach

We’re on the progressive side. We don’t shy away from adopting new technologies. We know that is necessary if we want to remain competitive and grow our farm.

The future of our operation

We want to continue to grow and expand our farm. We want to grow it to the point that if the kids want to be involved, they can be. FCSAmerica provides us the confidence to continue to push forward.

What I enjoy most about farming

I like being my own boss and setting my own schedule. I like the pressure of knowing that my success is directly related to working hard and making good decisions. Farming also allows us to be home with our children.
