Choosing a career in agriculture

Ranching is my passion and it’s something I’ve wanted to do my whole life. I handle more of the irrigating and the hay ground, but I also share in the cattle operation. It really makes me proud to think of the many generations of my family that have been here before me.

What I enjoy about agriculture

What I like about agriculture is the freedom and being able to live this lifestyle. I enjoy being around wildlife and having the opportunity to care for livestock, and in return, raise a product that feeds the rest of the world.

Advice to others getting started in agriculture

My advice for anybody getting into agriculture is do a lot of research and homework first, and then pick a good financial institution like Farm Credit to help you get started.
