Why I chose agriculture

I’ve always had a passion for agriculture. It started at a young age when I was working on the family farm. That is where some of my best memories growing up are from. I’m excited to be able to create memories with my son and help develop his passion for agriculture on our farm.

How I prepared myself for agricultural business

I have a degree in agriculture business and work for a chemical company. The chemical and agronomy knowledge that I gain at my job easily translates to my farm.

Our business approach

We feel using technology is important to be able to operate on tighter margins. We see it as an investment in order to be more efficient. We are willing to try new things by being assertive and bold when making decisions to advance our operation.

The future of our operation

We want to be able to grow our farm so that we can farm full-time. We will continue to be good stewards of the land because we want to be able to leave our children a farm they can call their own.

We want to be able to work full-time on the farm. To make this happen, we need to grow the farm aggressively but also be smart about it. FCSAmerica works side by side with us to help us manage the risk and make sound decisions.

What I enjoy most about farming

It’s not about the money. I do it because it’s a way of life I love. The success of the farm depends on my decisions. It’s challenging but very rewarding. I couldn’t think of a better place to raise a family.
