Why we chose agriculture

I went away to college for one year, but decided I wanted to be involved in production so I came back and started farming with my wife, Peggy, and my parents. Peggy and I are thankful we got to raise our two children on the farm.

Our business’s future

We see our operation continuing to grow, especially our pork business. It’s an exciting time to be involved in agriculture.

What we enjoy about our business

We get up every day knowing there’s going to be variety in our work on our diversified farm. Farming is a noble profession and I’m proud to help provide food for a growing population.

What we do in our spare time

I’m on the National Pork Board which requires some travel. Peggy and I are both 4-H leaders and I’m on a couple local boards. Peggy does some Ag advocacy through Common Ground. Otherwise, we enjoy spending time with our two adult children and son-in-law.
