Why I chose agriculture

I grew up working on the farm and have always loved being outside and working with livestock.

Our greatest challenge

It’s difficult to grow our land base – we want to keep growing to allow our sons to farm with us.

Our business approach

We manage the farm with a long-term mindset that will offer our kids and grandkids the opportunity to continue farming.

How we know we’re heading in the right direction

Two things – first, if we’re profitable; and second, if we’re all enjoying what we’re doing.

Interests outside of farming

We are active in our county and state pork producers associations as well as in our church. We enjoy fishing and camping, and spending as much time as possible with our four grandchildren.

Why we work with FCSAmerica

I started working with FCSAmerica when I wanted to modernize our hog operation and build new barns. My bank wasn’t willing to take on the opportunity, but FCSAmerica was. We appreciate their ag expertise and their openness to help us expand.
