OMAHA, NEBRASKA - Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) stockholders elected three agricultural producers to the financial cooperative’s Board of Directors. A fourth agricultural producer was re-appointed to the Board. All will serve a four-year term, beginning April 1, 2020, and running through March 31, 2024.

Stockholders elected the following customer-owners:

Jon Van Beek of Primghar, Iowa, has a family farm operation raising corn and soybean seed and is a partner in D-Nine, Inc., custom feeding hogs. Van Beek has served on the FCSAmerica Board since 2009.

Jennifer Zessin of Madison, Nebraska, and her husband have a farm operation raising corn and soybeans. She has past business experience in banking, human resources and internal auditing. Zessin also serves on the National Farm Credit Council Board of Directors, AgriBank District Farm Credit Council and is treasurer for Trinity Lutheran Church and School. She has served on the FCSAmerica Board since January 1, 2009.

Cris Miller of Spearfish, South Dakota, is owner of Miller’s Crow Creek Ranch, L.L.C., a family business with a commercial cow-calf operation, a backgrounding operation and feed crops. He also serves on the AgriBank District Farm Credit Council and as president of the Butte Electric Cooperative, Inc., Board. He has served on the FCSAmerica Board since January 1, 2012.

Nick Jorgensen of Ideal, South Dakota, was re-appointed by the Board of Directors. He has served on the Board since 2016 and is a young and beginning producer. Jorgensen owns and operates Jorgensen Land and Cattle Partnership with his father, cousin and uncle. The family grows multiple crops, has a registered Angus cow herd and commercial Angus bull operation, and provides guided pheasant hunts.

FCSAmerica is governed by a Board of Directors that reflects the diversity of agriculture in the Association’s four states of Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.  Twelve Directors are elected by customer-owners and three are appointed by the Board for their outside expertise. One elected position is vacant following the recent election of Bob Bruxvoort, a New Sharon, Iowa, producer, to the AgriBank Board of Directors earlier this month. The Board will make a determination on filling the vacant position in the upcoming weeks.
