How I got started in agriculture

I got started in agriculture growing up on the farm, carrying buckets and helping my parents with whatever needed to be done. I had a passion for it early in life. I went off to college I knew I wanted to major in something related to agriculture. When my grandpa was at retiring age there was an opportunity for me to come back to the farm. I jumped right in post college graduation.

My relationship with Farm Credit

My family had worked with Farm Credit, so I had the good fortune to get my start with them as a young man. My experience working with my Farm Credit team has been nothing but positive. My loan officer and all the other professionals at Farm Credit are very knowledgeable. They do a wonderful job meeting all the needs we have and sometimes needs we don’t know we have.

Farm Credit’s insights and expertise

Farm Credit has brought us different insights or expertise to our operation, but probably the biggest thing I’m grateful for is my loan officer recommending a rate change on my real estate loans. We ended up lowering rates on two different loans, and that will be a really big deal going forward in the future.

What I enjoy most about farming

The thing I enjoy most about farming is its diversity. There’s always a different season to look forward to and you get to experience the challenges, joy and fulfillment that comes with each one.

My vision for the future

My vision for the future of our operation is to keep growing sustainably.
