Choosing a career in agriculture

I grew up on my family farm and I’m the fifth generation. Cody also grew up in a cattle operation, so there was no question that we were going to be involved in agriculture. It was a natural fit for us to come home and raise our family on the farm as well.

Working together with our loan officer

Our loan officer really takes an interest in our goals and is invested in our operation as much as we are. There’s no pressure moving in one direction or another. It’s a conversation and a strategy that we work through together.

They’re different from other lenders

Working with Farm Credit is very different than working with other lenders in that they’re invested in us being successful. With other institutions you can feel like you’re just a number. We really appreciate that Farm Credit looks to us as a peers and as a partners.

They invest in us as young producers

Farm Credit has supported us as young producers by providing opportunities for continuing education such as the Side by Side Conference or webinars. They really invest in us so that we can be great partners and make good business decisions as we grow our operation.

What I love about agriculture

It’s rewarding to be on the farm that has been in my family for over 150 years. We’re doing all that we can to continue to be good stewards and grow the operation so that we can hand it down to our son.
