Why I chose a career in agriculture

I chose a career in agriculture because I like the challenges and the lifestyle. It’s rewarding to grow a quality product that I can put on my table and feed the rest of the world with.

How I began working with Farm Credit

I was looking for a lender to grow our operation. I saw a Farm Credit ad, called the number and asked to talk with somebody and that’s how I started my relationship with my loan officer. Whenever I need anything, they always pick up the phone or get back to me right away, and I really appreciate that.

They’re always there to guide me

Farm Credit has shared a lot of expertise with me in terms of evaluating cost of production and having different ways to calculate it. They help me make sure I’m making good steps and the right decisions in my operation.

What motivates me to work in agriculture

What motivates me to work in agriculture is to continue the family legacy. I’m a fifth generation farmer and my son will be the sixth generation. I started farming in 2016 with my dad. I built a pig barn and have slowly picked up more acres.

Educational opportunities to grow my business

I’ve attended a few different Farm Credit meetings like the GrowingOn conference. I’ve also attended the Side by Side conference for young and beginning farmers. I really enjoy and appreciate the educational opportunities Farm Credit provides to help me continue to grow my business.
