Farm Credit Services of America’s community involvement program provides funding and resources to a variety of organizations that support agricultural causes. Our program is focused on making a positive difference in the communities we serve.

In 2015, FCSAmerica and its employees contributed more than 7,100 volunteer hours and $3.2 million dollars in support to organizations in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming. Click to view the 2015 Community Impact Report.

Grant Program

Through our Working Here Fund, we provide grants for projects and organizations that make a positive impact in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota or Wyoming in the areas of ag education, young and beginning producers, and hunger and nutrition. Grants will also be considered for essential services and disaster relief needs in rural communities. There are two funding options – grants of up to $2,000 each and up to $10,000 each – available through our Working Here Fund. Grants are awarded quarterly.

Agricultural Education

We contribute more than $225,000 annually in sponsorships and scholarships to high school and university agriculture programs, ag leaderships programs, 4-H and FFA.

  • 4-H and FFA

We provide 4-H county fair stall cards and t-shirts, and supply the FFA student and advisor handbooks in our four-state territory. To help FFA Chapters with funding to attend their National Convention, we offer eight $1,000 sponsorships annually. To date, FCSAmerica has sponsored more than 76 FFA Chapters.

  • FFA Risk Management Tool for the Ag Classroom

Provided at no cost to FFA classrooms in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming, this tool provides intuitive way for FFA students to learn about agriculture risk management and marketing principles.

  • Farm Safety For Just Kids

FCSAmerica’s financial support of Farm Safety For Just Kids provides farm safety demonstrations, education and presentations at no cost to our local communities.

Young and Beginning Producers

  • Annie’s Project

Our support provides 19 farm transition and business management courses for women farmers and ranchers through Annie's Project, an educational program designed to strengthen women's roles in the modern farm enterprise. Click to learn about and register for Annie’s Project Level I and Level II courses.
  • Side by Side Conference

We host an annual Side by Side Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, for young and beginning producers, providing business outlooks, crop risk strategies and revenue management guidance. Attendees have an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other young and beginning producers.
  • Succession Planning

Succession planning courses are supported by FCSAmerica, including succession planning workshops and university extension outreach development programs.

Hunger and Nutrition

In 2015, FCSAmerica helped to provide more than 365,000 meals through local food banks that serve the immediate hunger needs in our four-state territory.

Through donations and volunteer efforts of our employees, we've helped process more than 89 tons of food, built community gardens and filled backpacks for kids.

Employee Volunteer Program

Every employee of FCSAmerica has the opportunity to participate hands-on in our community involvement program. Annually, each employee is allocated eight hours of paid time each year to volunteer for an organization they choose to support.

In 2015, FCSAmerica employees invested more than 7,100 hours of their time to help community organizations.
