FCSAmerica GrowingOn Meetings Help Producers Navigate Through Crop Price Volatility

FCSAmerica hosted GrowingOn® meetings in 30 locations across Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota from December 2013 through January 2014. The purpose of the meetings was to provide relevant, interesting information producers can use to help them plan, reduce risk and grow in 2014.

Steven Johnson, Farm and Ag Business Management Specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, was the main presenter. In his “Managing Crop Price Volatility: Strategies & Tools” presentation, he reviewed current U.S. Crop Supply/Demand estimates and weekly futures charts, discussed 2014 crop cost estimates and price forecasts, and suggested a variety of marketing tools and risk management strategies for managing 2014 farm revenue. FCSAmerica crop insurance specialists presented valuable information regarding federal crop insurance plans and policy provisions. They also featured AgriPoint®, an online tool that helps producers create marketing plans – bundling crop insurance, breakeven analyses, profit targets and more in one program. If you’d like more information regarding 2014 insurance changes or AgriPoint, contact your local FCSAmerica office or call 1-800-884-FARM.
