Farm Credit Services of America To Hire 50 for New Crop Insurance Positions

– 49 Jobs Will Be Based at Community Retail Offices –

OMAHA – January 9, 2012 – Omaha-based Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) plans to hire an additional 50 employees for its crop insurance agency as it seeks to increase staffing for that segment of its business in 2012.

Forty-nine of the new employees will be working at the agricultural finance cooperative’s community retail offices in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, according to Michael Barrett, senior vice president. One additional crop insurance analyst will work from the cooperative’s west Omaha headquarters.

FCSAmerica is hiring for 18 positions in Iowa, 20 in Nebraska and 12 in South Dakota, Barrett said.

“The crop insurance business overall is undergoing substantial change because of current economic and political realities,” Barrett noted. “Many grain producers and the crop insurance agencies that serve them are finding that keeping up with product changes and complying with new regulations are becoming very complex tasks.

>“FCSAmerica focuses solely on financial services for agriculture, and our only insurance offering is crop insurance,” he added. “Because of that, we are able to maintain a high level of expertise and demand for our services is increasing. These staffing additions will allow us to meet producer needs for risk management advice.”

Barrett said the company seeks qualified applicants for two types of jobs, both of which require college degrees or equivalent experience, professional training and licensing.

  • Insurance specialists are responsible for customer relationships, analysis, recommendations and sales.
  • Insurance account specialists provide customer service and support.

“These are excellent jobs with high levels of responsibility and very good compensation packages that include a base salary as well as an incentive program,” Barrett said.

The company hopes to fill 30 of the positions by March 31 and the remaining 20 by the end of September. Job descriptions and applications are posted at the FCSAmerica website: https://www.fcsamerica.com/Careers/.
