Candidate Description of Business Knowledge and/or Education in the Following Areas:

Strategic Planning: Making an income is a vital key to succeed in a farming operation. In farming you plan for next year’s crop six months before you plant that crop. You use several variables in order to figure out what seed, fertilizer, chemical, etc. will be your best choice in order to make that seed produce the largest crop. There are several unknown factors and you rely heavily on your dealers for advice.

Corporate Governance/Organizational Leadership: Following guidelines and rules of an operation ensures that all parties are operating effectively and efficiently. Farm families must coordinate daily, monthly, and annual tasks and communicate what needs to be done and when.

Financial Reporting: We communicate each month with a monthly report that shows to whom checks were written to, how much and where our accounts are at financially.

Business Technology: I have been using more applications with my smartphone and tablet to market commodities, manage equipment, and expenses.

Risk Management: Maintaining proper levels of insurance. Assuring employees are not over stressed. Maintaining equipment in good operating order.

Human Resource Management: I use Neb Guides to figure out custom hay prices and any other custom farming work that I get asked to do.
