Omaha, Nebraska - (February 15, 2013) – Farm Safety For Just Kids has received a financial contribution from Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica). FCSAmerica's support will be put toward the Farm Safety For Just Kids outreach coordinator program, adding part-time positions in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
“FCSAmerica does terrific things to support the individual producers within the agriculture industry,” said David Schweitz, executive director of Farm Safety For Just Kids. “Their sponsorship of Farm Safety For Just Kids demonstrates their commitment to the industry.”
The outreach coordinator positions will travel the state doing farm safety demonstrations and presentations at no cost with the support of FCSAmerica.
“A key focus of the FCSAmerica community involvement program is to support organizations that provide much needed ag education programs,” said Doug Stark, FCSAmerica president and CEO. “We’re happy to support Farm Safety For Just Kids and help promote farm safety awareness for children in our farm communities.”
Farm Safety For Just Kids was created in 1987 by Marilyn Adams after the death of her 11-year-old son. The organization works to raise awareness about the health and safety hazards that are an inherent part of the rural environment in which children live, work, and play. Over 110 chapters in the United States and Canada conduct safety and health programs within their communities.
