Omaha, Nebraska — (July 14, 2011) — Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) has donated $50,000 to local Red Cross Chapters as part of its support of flood relief efforts in areas along the Missouri and Platte River in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.  In addition to the Red Cross Chapter donations, FCSAmerica’s willingness to work with customers impacted by the flooding,  are part of FCSAmerica’s overall effort to support the local communities in the most affected flood areas in those states.

“We are committed to reaching out and supporting our customers and the individuals who have been impacted by the flooding in the communities we serve,” said Doug Stark, president and chief executive officer, FCSAmerica.  “With so many families, businesses and agricultural operations devastated by this summer’s flooding, we are pleased to show our community support by making this Red Cross contribution.”

FCSAmerica is individually working with its customers and encourages them to contact their local FCSAmerica office to discuss their specific situations.

The Red Cross Chapters in local communities receiving assistance from FCSAmerica include Iowa’s Loess Hills Chapter in Council Bluffs and the Siouxland Area Chapter in Sioux City; Nebraska’s Greater Nebraska Panhandle Chapter in Scottsbluff,  the Heartland Chapter in Omaha, and the Mid-plains Chapter in North Platte; and South Dakota’s Oahe Chapter in Pierre and the Sioux Empire Chapter in Sioux Falls.
