Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) and its customer owner elected board of directors made a decision in 2005 to discontinue the sales and servicing of life insurance policies as of the end of 2005. The decision was made to improve operational efficiencies and provide more focus on core lending and crop insurance strengths.
As a cooperative, FCSAmerica values efficient operations that serve customer stockholders well and in the long run can help keep FCSAmerica competitive in the marketplace. FCSAmerica did not foresee achieving the necessary efficiencies in the price competitive life insurance industry to continue to sell and service life insurance products.
This decision results in changes to servicing and billing for current Farm Credit Services of America life insurance customers. These changes are effective January 1, 2006.
